PERSONAL MOVEMENT HISTORY

Personal Movement History is a video research series that revisits and reenacts choreographies from a personal archive of high school graduations, as these were captured by home-made VHS videos in the late 90s. The project aims to explore bodily manifestations of the self, as well as to investigate how movement-vocabulary is informed throughout different relations. The videos search for choreographic ways to enable a body’s re-location within specific socio-cultural conditions and to bring up more light on what a genealogy of movement can be.
